About me

My name is Ambrose Winfree.  I am currently 59 years of age.  My wife, Becky, and I have been married for 35 years and we have three grown daughters.  After working in business for over 30 years I went to seminary at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC and received by Masters of Divinity in May, 2011.  Since that time I have been working as a Pastoral Assistant at our church here in Richmond, VA.  Becky and I are now working towards raising financial and prayer support for moving out of the States and into Latin America to help local pastors plant new churches.  Becky and I feel that our work has just begun.  By God’s grace we have a new vision for our lives.  We want to focus the rest of the time here in helping to grow the Church in Latin America.  Once our support is raised, we will be moving to Bogotá, Colombia for language and other training.  Once we finish there, we will head to wherever our agency, Mission to the World, feels that we would be the most useful.

I want to encourage others our age to think carefully about their lives – to examine how they plan on finishing.  Do they plan on finishing well?

Dear brother Ambrose and sister Becky,
I want to offer hope, love and encouragement in your endeavor to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ in what ever place the Lord may lead you. Jesus is my personal Lord and Savior and I praise and worship Him for all He has done in my life. I have been a student of the Bible for many years now and know without a shadow of doubt that we are living in the most exciting time in history. A wise Bible expositor once said, “Prophetic events cast a shadow before them.” We are living in a unique time in history where can see the groundwork being laid for prophetic events. Now is the time to boldly go and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ! The harvest is plentiful and the laborers are few. Now is the time to proclaim the love, grace, mercy and the gift of salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ! I thank the Lord for you and your wife who are making a huge sacrifice to move to unknown land, learn the language, and share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Nothing you lose in this world will compare to the eternal rewards of heaven. As a undergrad at UCLA God called me out of this world. I was saved but I let the things of this world get my eyes off Jesus. I ran from Him. I knew the Bible was the inspired Word of God but I hid his truth in my pocket and did not act upon it. Needless to say God chastised me. Charles Spurgeon once said, “The Lord gets His best soldiers from the highlands of affliction.” God has also laid on my heart a burning desire to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am now taking Bible courses through Liberty and become equipped to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. I am also planning on relocating to my native Mexico and go through out the land and share Gods love and proclaim His gospel. Please keep us informed through your blog. May God continue to bless you through our Lord Jesus Christ.
